The East Coast Bohemian

This August, I’ll have been living in Los Angeles for eleven years.

And try as I might, I just don’t feel comfortable with the whole SoCal “bohemian” look. I’ve long said that if I could wear a suit ever day, I’d actually be pretty happy. But no one wears suits in LA, except for agents and, like, Chase personal bankers.

But I keep trying to push little hints of Bohemia into my style. Little bits. Crop tops? Sure. Let’s give this trend a try, since it’s been around for a few years and doesn’t seem to be going away.

Tobi has an awesome selection of affordable, boho-inspired pieces. I don’t shop there on the regular, but it’s so fun to poke around their site!

Also, I’ve recently just starting wearing lipstick again and NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Cruella is basically my favorite favorite favorite. It feels like the dark, grunge reds of my extreme youth, but way less The Craft-y.

This is like my entire beauty routine nowadays.

I kept everything else pretty light– no jewelry or fancy hair (considering I’m still hating the highlights I got two weeks ago and haven’t gotten off my butt to get them fixed). All very simple, all very classic, and just a bit Bohemian.
