Chai Tea Infused Vodka

I have to admit, I am really late to the chai tea craze.

Until very recently, I just simply loved bitter tea. Brew up some Earl Grey, add a healthy squeeze of lemon, and I was in 7th heaven.

But when I moved to Ojai, CA two years ago (two years? already?!), I started dining at Hip Vegan, the very best restaurant in the town. And they are MOST well-known for their vegan chai tea.

Well, I’ve been sipping on iced chai all summer, but now that it’s fall, I’ve decided to get a liiiiiitle crazy with my tea.

Chai Tea Infused Vodka

You all know I’m wild about infusing my own spirits. I’ve infused vodka with cranberries, and tequila with Granny Smith apples. Now, what’s more obvious than infusing spirits with tea?

A flavorful vodka filled with the sweet and spicy flavors of chai tea.

Ingredients
Servings: one-ounce pours
Instructions
  1. Place your chai tea bag in the bottom of a non-reactive container (I used a glass foodsaver container)
  2. Cover with vodka. I only made 4 ounces, because I didn't want to waste an entire $17 bottle of vodka on making it tea flavored.
  3. Cover with a tight lid, shake, and then leave to brew for one hour.
  4. After the hour, remove the teabag, cover, and refrigerate.
