You know how when you read fashion magazines, they tell you how to “dress up” a basic dress with a kicky belt?
These are dressed-up brownies for sure.
You see in the photo above, there’s a shadowy figure in the background of my brownie photo. That would be my fiance going back for thirds of these brownies. And the twist?
Just a healthy layer of peanut butter frosting. (I use the world “healthy” to mean “robust” not actually “good for you.” If someone can make a frosting that’s actually good for you– let me know! I want to make it!)
I guess there are a few ways to make peanut butter brownies. But the frosting is SO easy to make– this was the easiest way for me!
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- With a hand mixer or a stand mixer with a whisk attachment, mix together the peanut butter, butter, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
- Slowly add the powdered sugar until combined. Continue whipping until the frosting is of the desired consistency.
