So, I’m completely in love with this Honeybee Cocktail.
As you know, I have a few go-to cocktails.
Vodka gimlet, on the rocks.
In the mood for sweet? The toasted almond (amaretto, Kahlua, cream).
Extra dirty martini. A complete and total bar classic.
But I think I have a new best friend:
The Honeybee Cocktail.
Interesting color? Check.
Easy to make? Check.
Four or fewer ingredients? Check.
Ladylike? Not required, but check.
No stupid name that will make you blush? Double check.
Here are your ingredients:
- 2 ounces light rum or cachaca (I used cachaca, the difference between the two explained here)
- 2 ounces honey
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice (not shown; I had to sub for my favorite true lemon packets)
Add your ingredients to a shaker with ice.
Shake for a long-ass time. The honey is going to get cold, and then get stubborn. Keep shaking. And then shake some more. It’s worth it.
Strain in to a martini glass.
The rum/cachaca is mellowed by the citrus; the smooth honey notes become the favorite flavor.
