Cocktail Friday: The Toasted Almond Cocktail

The Toasted Almond Cocktail is one of my absolute favorite cocktails.  But before I tell you how to make it, I have to tell you something I learned at work:

Amaretto (you know, one of my favorite liqueurs of all time, as it is sweet, sweet holy lifeblood to young women who hate boozy cocktails) emulates the flavor of almonds, but is often made from apricot pits.

This inspired me to whip up one of my absolute, all-time, sweet-cuppin-cakes favorite cocktails, The Toasted Almond.

Toasted Almond Cocktail Recipe

  • 1oz milk
  • 1oz Kahlua
  • 1oz Amaretto

Stirred over ice.

Not shaken.  Stirred.

Preferably with a neat-o vintage TWA stir stick from my Grandpa’s collection.

    P.S. Sorry I’ve been so quiet… :(

  2. Yummm! If it weren’t so rainy here today, I’d be all over these. BUT if you can’t enjoy on a sunny patio, they do make a really nice after dinner drink while snuggling on the couch :)

  3. Yay! A milky cocktail that perhaps skim milk won’t taste gross in? Seems like everything else requires cream and try as I might, replacing it with skim milk never comes out yummy. Also, that “The More You Know” clip just cracked me up.

  4. OH MY GOSH!!!!! This drink is GREAT!!!!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMM! Even better with 4 oz of each. ;)

P.S. The Offspring is making a virgin one using coffee syrups. ;)
